An article published by the NB Media Co-op mentions our Coalition along with other groups in NB that signed the letter to Minister O’Regan last week. The article, by Brian Beaton, outlines some of the issues involved with the lack of regulatory guidelines for the proposed SMNR projects in the province. You can read the article here.

Our new coalition is a signatory to a letter from 100 groups across Canada to the federal minister of Natural Resources. The letter expresses our strong support for the development of comprehensive policies and strategies for the long-term management of radioactive waste in Canada that will protect the environment and current and future generations of Canadians. Today our Coalition sent a letter to Catherine McKenna, federal Minister for Infrastructure and Communities, expressing our disagreement with the request by Premier Higgs to spend federal Infrastructure funding on the development of small modular nuclear reactors. You can read the letter here.
